This is a Secondary School job.
Contract Duration: long term - perm
Contract Type: Full Time
Age groups: Secondary School
We are seeking an exceptional and enthusiastic Head of ICT and Computer Studies to join our vibrant and popular 11–18 secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and innovative teacher with QTS to lead a thriving department and play a key part in shaping the digital learning experience for our students. ICT is delivered to all students across Key Stage 3, ensuring they develop the essential digital literacy needed for modern life and future careers. At Key Stages 4 and 5, students follow Computer Studies pathways that are well-established, increasingly popular, and supported by a strong record of academic success. As the Head of Department, you will guide the strategic direction of these subjects, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and curriculum development, while also nurturing a forward-thinking approach that keeps our provision aligned with technological advancements.

The ideal candidate

The successful candidate will lead a small but dedicated team, inspiring colleagues through a clear vision, effective communication, and a collaborative approach. You will oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and enrichment, while also supporting staff development and contributing to whole-school initiatives. This is a full-time position with leadership responsibilities, and while the core timetable will be within ICT and Computer Studies, there may be opportunities to contribute to teaching in related subject areas, depending on your experience and the needs of the school. We are looking for someone with strong classroom expertise, a passion for digital education, and a commitment to helping young people thrive in an ever-evolving technological world. You should bring both subject knowledge and leadership ambition, with the drive to build on our existing strengths and take the department forward with creativity and confidence. If you are an inspiring educator who is ready to make a significant contribution to a forward-thinking school community, we would be delighted to hear from you. The role is available from after Easter, though an earlier start may be possible for the right candidate.
