4myschools are looking to recruit enthusiastic, skilled and experienced Primary HLTAs to work on a daily supply basis across Acle and the surrounding areas from November 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for education professionals who enjoy the variety that supply work offers while continuing to make a positive impact on children’s learning and development within local primary schools. As a Primary HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Your responsibilities will include delivering planned learning activities, leading intervention groups, providing targeted support to pupils requiring additional help, and occasionally covering whole classes in the absence of the teacher. You will work closely with class teachers and senior leaders to ensure lessons run smoothly, maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, and contribute to creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can thrive. Assignments may vary from school to school, providing an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience across a range of educational settings. You may support pupils with varying abilities, including those who require additional academic, behavioural or pastoral support. The successful candidate will be confident adapting learning activities to meet individual needs, promoting pupil engagement and encouraging children to develop confidence, resilience and independence in their learning. This role offers the flexibility to choose when you work while enjoying regular opportunities throughout the academic year. Working hours are typically 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only, with both part-time and full-time supply opportunities available.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We are seeking a confident, adaptable and proactive HLTA who has previous experience working within a primary school setting. Applicants should have experience supporting teaching and learning across the primary age range and feel comfortable leading planned lessons and interventions when required. A recognised HLTA qualification would be advantageous, although experienced Teaching Assistants with strong classroom leadership skills and relevant experience will also be considered. The successful candidate must hold a minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE Maths and English and demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills. You should be able to build positive relationships quickly with pupils, staff and parents, whilst maintaining a professional and flexible approach to work. Experience supporting children with additional learning needs, including SEND, would be highly beneficial. Due to the nature of daily supply work across Acle and surrounding villages, applicants should have access to reliable transport and be able to travel between different school locations. Availability from November 2026 is essential.
