New opening! Higher Learning Teaching Assistant – Norwich

4myschools is currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support a range of friendly and inclusive primary schools across Norwich. We have flexible daily supply, part-time and long-term opportunities available, making this an excellent option for HLTAs seeking a better work-life balance, greater flexibility or the opportunity to secure a longer-term role within a supportive school environment. As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. This varied and rewarding position involves working closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences, leading whole-class lessons in the teacher’s absence, delivering targeted intervention programmes, supporting small groups and providing one-to-one assistance where required. You will use your knowledge of the primary curriculum to help pupils make progress across a range of subjects while promoting confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning. A successful HLTA brings far more than classroom support. Schools highly value HLTAs for their ability to step confidently into a teaching role when required, adapt learning to meet individual pupil needs, manage classroom behaviour effectively and provide continuity of education during teacher absence. You may be asked to cover PPA time, lead pre-planned lessons, support phonics and literacy interventions, deliver numeracy support programmes or work alongside SEND teams to ensure pupils receive the specialist support they need to thrive. You will also use your strong understanding of child development, safeguarding and inclusion to support pupils with a range of abilities and backgrounds. Opportunities may include supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and moderate learning difficulties. Your ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families will be fundamental to creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment. The schools we work with are committed to delivering high-quality education and fostering caring, inclusive environments where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential. Staff work collaboratively to inspire curiosity, promote wellbeing and ensure all pupils feel valued and supported. HLTAs are recognised as an integral part of the wider school team and are trusted to make a meaningful contribution to pupil outcomes.
