Immediate opportunity! Higher Learning Teaching Assistant – King’s Lynn
4myschools are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work on a daily supply basis across a range of friendly and supportive primary schools in King’s Lynn and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for confident education professionals who enjoy the diversity of working in different school settings and are seeking flexible work that fits around their existing commitments. As a Primary HLTA, you will provide essential classroom support across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping to ensure high-quality learning continues during teacher absences or periods of increased staffing need. You will be trusted to lead whole-class learning using pre-planned lessons, support pupils’ academic progress, and maintain positive classroom environments that enable children to thrive. The role offers a varied and rewarding schedule, with no two days being the same, allowing you to gain valuable experience across a wide range of primary settings. Your responsibilities will include delivering engaging learning activities, supporting teachers with classroom organisation, leading intervention groups in literacy and numeracy, and providing targeted support to pupils requiring additional guidance. You will often work with small groups to reinforce key learning objectives, helping children build confidence and develop essential skills. In some schools, you may also provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs, ensuring every child has access to the curriculum and the opportunity to achieve their best. A successful HLTA on supply must be adaptable and confident in quickly establishing positive relationships with pupils and staff. You will be expected to follow school policies, promote excellent behaviour for learning, and create an inclusive atmosphere where children feel safe, encouraged and motivated. Strong communication skills will be essential, as you’ll regularly liaise with teaching staff and school leaders to ensure continuity of learning throughout each assignment. Daily supply work offers a unique opportunity to experience different school environments without the additional workload often associated with permanent positions. Whether you are an experienced HLTA looking for greater flexibility, returning to education after a break, or seeking to broaden your experience across multiple primary schools, this role provides a fantastic opportunity to continue making a meaningful impact on children’s education while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
- Contract duration: Supply Teacher, Temporary (Short Term)
- Contract type: PART_TIME, FULL_TIME – Hours: 08:30-3.:30

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate should be motivated and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.
This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a primary school setting as a HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Cover Supervisor and will be confident supporting learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. A recognised HLTA qualification is desirable; however, candidates with substantial classroom experience and a proven ability to lead learning independently are also encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold a minimum of GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Maths. A strong understanding of the primary curriculum, effective behaviour management skills, and the ability to adapt to different year groups and school environments are essential. Experience delivering interventions, supporting mixed-ability learners, and working with pupils who require additional support would be advantageous. We are seeking professionals who are reliable, organised, proactive and passionate about education. Successful candidates will be able to build rapport quickly, manage classroom routines effectively, and demonstrate a flexible approach to working across different schools. Due to travel requirements between schools in King’s Lynn and the surrounding villages, access to reliable transport is highly desirable. Candidates should be available to work between 8:30am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday during term time, although supply work offers the flexibility to choose assignments that suit your availability.
