We are seeking a confident and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), or a graduate with relevant school-based experience, to provide flexible supply cover throughout the Autumn Term 2026/27, supporting the school in maintaining continuity of learning during staff absences. In this varied and rewarding role, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of year groups, stepping into a whole-class teaching role where required. You will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment, managing behaviour effectively, and ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task. The role will also involve supporting pupils with additional needs where necessary, adapting learning materials to suit different abilities, and contributing to the overall progress and wellbeing of the children. Your ability to quickly build rapport with pupils and staff alike will be key, as will your confidence in delivering lessons across the curriculum.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced HLTA or a graduate with proven experience within a primary school setting and a solid understanding of the curriculum and/or special educational needs. You will hold a minimum of Grade 4 (or C) in GCSE Maths and English and demonstrate strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills. A flexible and proactive approach is essential, as the nature of supply requires responsiveness to the needs of the school. You should be reliable, professional, and confident covering a variety of classes at short notice. Access to your own transport or the ability to travel easily within the local area is highly desirable. A HLTA qualification and prior experience working as a HLTA is highly desirable, and SEND experience is often an advantage.
