At 4myschools, we are currently recruiting for a passionate and adaptable KS1 Supply Teacher to join a welcoming and values-led primary school in the Bishop’s Stortford area for an immediate start. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stage 1, maintaining continuity of learning, and fostering a positive classroom atmosphere. You will differentiate work to meet the needs of all learners, including those with Special Educational Needs, such as social communication and language needs, and work collaboratively with support staff to ensure an inclusive approach. Strong behaviour management, effective use of assessment, and clear communication with colleagues will be key aspects of the role, alongside a firm commitment to safeguarding at all times.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1, with a confident understanding of the primary curriculum. You will hold a minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in Maths and English, and demonstrate excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate young learners. Experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable, along with a flexible and proactive approach to supply teaching. Due to the location, access to your own transport is strongly preferred. You must be available for an ASAP start and able to commit to ongoing supply work, with the potential for this role to extend. A positive, professional attitude and the ability to quickly build rapport with both pupils and staff are essential.
