At 4myschools, we are recruiting a committed and adaptable KS2 Supply Teacher to join a welcoming, values-led primary school in the Bishop’s Stortford area for an immediate start. As the successful candidate, you will deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stage 2, ensuring continuity of learning within the classroom. You will be responsible for planning and adapting lessons where required, differentiating effectively to meet the needs of all pupils—including those with Special Educational Needs such as communication, behavioural and learning needs—and maintaining strong classroom management. You will work collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider staff, contribute to a positive learning environment, and provide constructive feedback on pupil progress. A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is essential.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have recent experience teaching within Key Stage 2, with a strong understanding of the upper primary curriculum. You will hold a minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in Maths and English, and demonstrate confident classroom management alongside the ability to engage, challenge and inspire pupils. Experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable, particularly within a mainstream classroom setting. You will be flexible, reliable, and comfortable stepping into a new school environment, building rapport quickly with both pupils and staff. Due to the school’s location, access to your own transport is strongly preferred. You must be available for an ASAP start and able to commit to ongoing supply work, with the potential for this role to extend further. A positive, proactive attitude and a team-focused mindset are key to success in this role.
