Immediate opportunity! KS1 Teacher – Ipswich

This role involves working across a range of primary schools in Ipswich, supporting Year 2 classes within Key Stage 1. The schools are typically well‑established, with clear routines and a strong focus on supporting pupils through an important transition year as they build independence and core skills. Depending on the placement, you may be providing short‑term cover or stepping into a longer‑term role where consistency and familiarity are key for pupils. Staff teams are generally supportive and experienced, with clear expectations in place to help visiting teachers settle quickly.

 

  • Contract duration: Ongoing Supply
  • Contract type: Flexible – Hours: 8:30 – 15:30
  • Age groups: Year 2

 

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

This opportunity would suit a confident and approachable teacher who understands the academic and pastoral needs of Year 2 pupils. You should be comfortable delivering pre‑planned lessons, maintaining a calm learning environment, and adapting your approach to suit different school settings. For longer‑term placements, the ability to contribute to planning, assessment, and pupil progress will be important. A positive attitude and clear communication style will help ensure continuity of learning in both short‑ and long‑term roles.

What you need to start

Right to work in the UK. 
Relevant experience or qualifications in education or childcare (desirable). 
Dedication to safeguarding children. 
Qualified Teacher Status is required. 
Recent experience working in Key Stage 1, particularly Year 2, is desirable. 
Availability for short‑term supply and/or longer‑term placements across multiple schools is beneficial.
