New opportunity! KS1 Teaching Assistant – King’s Lynn
4myschools are working in partnership with a number of welcoming and child‑centred Infant schools in the King’s Lynn area to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistants. These schools offer nurturing, inclusive environments where early learning, positive relationships and pupil wellbeing sit at the heart of everything they do. This is a fantastic opportunity for a KS1 Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young learners during a crucial stage of their education and who enjoys working within supportive, collaborative school communities. The successful applicant will work closely with class teachers to support the delivery of the KS1 curriculum, providing in‑class support, small‑group interventions and one‑to‑one assistance where required. Responsibilities will include supporting early literacy and numeracy, assisting with phonics sessions, reinforcing classroom routines, and helping pupils to remain engaged, confident and ready to learn. You may also support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, by adapting activities, using inclusive strategies and promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, builds strong relationships with children quickly, and can adapt confidently to different Infant school settings across King’s Lynn.

Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should be motivated and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.
This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within Key Stage 1 or an Infant school setting, with a good understanding of how young children learn during the early stages of their education. A CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Early Years or a related field is highly desirable, although candidates with relevant classroom experience or strong transferable skills will also be considered. You will be confident supporting the KS1 curriculum, including phonics, early reading, writing and numeracy, and able to work closely with class teachers to provide effective in‑class, small‑group and one‑to‑one support. Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is an advantage, particularly within an Infant school environment, and you will demonstrate patience, adaptability and a nurturing approach to meeting individual needs. You will have a calm and positive manner, strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with young children, staff and parents. A clear understanding of safeguarding procedures and a strong commitment to promoting the welfare and wellbeing of children is essential. This role would suit candidates seeking supply, short‑term or longer‑term opportunities, and flexibility in availability is highly valued due to the varied nature of supporting multiple Infant schools across King’s Lynn. Access to reliable transport is advantageous. Above all, you will be enthusiastic, reliable and committed to supporting pupils’ learning, confidence and development at this important stage of their education.
