New opportunity! Learning Support Assistant – Northampton

4myschools is working in partnership with a small, specialist primary school in Northampton to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and complex needs. This nurturing setting is built on the understanding that behaviour is a form of communication, with a strong focus on emotional regulation and wellbeing. The school offers self‑regulation zones and safe spaces throughout, and every classroom has direct access to outdoor areas to support exploration and regulation. Learning is child‑led and delivered in small class sizes with one teacher and multiple support staff, allowing pupils to feel safe, understood and supported. The successful applicant will support children throughout the school day, working 1:1 and in small groups, assisting with regulation strategies, promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils to access learning in a calm and structured environment

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and comfortable working with pupils in a SEN School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

This role is suited to someone who is kind, patient, understanding and reliable, with previous experience as an LSA or supporting children with SEMH or complex needs. Applicants with strong primary curriculum knowledge or a background in special educational needs are encouraged to apply. You will be confident supporting pupils who present with challenging behaviour, responding with empathy, consistency and resilience. A team‑focused approach, availability during school hours and the ability to travel reliably to a Northampton‑based setting are essential.
