New vacancy! Nursery Assistant – Chelmsford

We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and nurturing primary school in Chelmsford that is seeking a dedicated Nursery Assistant to join their Early Years team. This friendly and inclusive school takes pride in creating a safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. The nursery class forms an integral part of the school community and provides a rich, play-based curriculum that supports every child’s social, emotional, physical, and academic development. As a Nursery Assistant, you will work closely with the Nursery Teacher and wider Early Years team to support children aged 3-4 years throughout their school day. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the delivery of fun and engaging learning activities linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, supporting children’s personal development and wellbeing, encouraging positive social interactions, preparing learning resources and maintaining a safe and stimulating environment. You will observe children’s progress, contribute to assessments where required, and provide both individual and small group support. There may also be opportunities to support children with additional learning needs, helping them access learning and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will join a committed and supportive staff team that values creativity, enthusiasm, and a child-centred approach to education. This is a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced Nursery Assistant looking for a new challenge or an aspiring education professional seeking valuable school-based experience within an Early Years setting.
