New vacancy! Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Sudbury – Sudbury
4myschools are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Sudbury area to recruit a dedicated Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant. The setting is a nurturing and community-focused environment with a strong emphasis on pupil wellbeing, inclusion, and tailored learning. Staff work collaboratively to create a supportive atmosphere where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school that values personalised support and strives to ensure every child can access the curriculum and reach their full potential. In this role, you will provide a blend of class-based, small group, and 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will help adapt learning materials, implement targeted interventions, and support individual education plans such as EHCPs. You will play a key role in promoting engagement, managing behaviour positively, and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will support children both academically and socially, building strong, trusting relationships while encouraging independence and resilience throughout the school day. This is a part-time position, working 3 days per week on an ongoing basis.

About the ideal candidate
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.
This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and adaptable individual, ideally a graduate, with a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND within a primary setting. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Support Assistant, or Learning Support Assistant is highly desirable, alongside a sound understanding of the primary curriculum and/or special educational needs. You should be confident delivering both 1:1 support and small group interventions, with strong communication skills to work effectively as part of a team. A patient and empathetic approach is essential, alongside the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. You must be available to work 3 days per week and, due to the location, access to reliable transport is important.
