This is a Primary School job.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim SENDCo to join our vibrant primary school community for one full term initially, starting immediately after the Easter break. Our school operates across two sites, with dedicated Infant and Junior settings, and we are looking for someone confident and capable of working across both to provide consistent, high‑quality support for pupils, staff, and families. This role requires an individual who can make an immediate and meaningful impact. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of how to support children with a wide range of special educational needs. They will champion inclusion, ensure that statutory duties are met to the highest standard, and work closely with teachers to enhance classroom practice and secure the best outcomes for pupils. A key part of the role will be building positive relationships quickly, modelling effective practice, and guiding colleagues through thoughtful, child‑centred SEND strategies.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will hold the NPQSENDCo qualification or an equivalent recognised SEND leadership qualification. They will demonstrate confidence in coordinating provision, managing EHCP processes, leading interventions, and engaging with external professionals. The role calls for someone proactive, organised, and compassionate, who can bring both expertise and enthusiasm to a well‑established team and help drive continued improvement across both school sites.
