New opening! SENDCo Teacher – Maldon

This is a secondary setting with a strong focus on inclusion, pastoral support and maintaining a structured learning environment. Staff work collaboratively to ensure that all students, regardless of need, can access a broad and balanced curriculum. The SENCo will be a central figure in the school’s leadership of SEND provision, working closely with teaching staff, support teams and external agencies during the school day to ensure effective support is in place. The SENCo will lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school and ensure that students with additional needs are identified early and supported effectively. The role involves overseeing EHCPs, coordinating interventions and supporting staff to deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching. Full-time position with flexibility for a four-day week Ongoing contract from September 2026 Secondary age range Leadership responsibility for SEND provision Working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff and external professionals Monitoring progress and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will be a qualified SENCo with a strong understanding of SEND legislation and practice in a secondary school setting. They will be confident in leading provision, supporting staff and building positive relationships with students and parents. A proactive, organised and adaptable approach is essential, alongside a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people with additional needs. Experience managing EHCP processes and coordinating interventions will be highly beneficial.
