As a Food and Nutrition Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a stimulating and knowledge-rich curriculum that develops practical culinary skills alongside a deeper understanding of nutrition, food science, health and wellbeing. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance curriculum design, embed effective teaching and learning strategies and continually raise standards across the subject area. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to curriculum innovation, share best practice and help create an engaging learning environment that inspires students to develop a lifelong interest in food and nutrition. Working as part of a supportive and ambitious department, you will deliver high-quality lessons across a range of key stages, monitor and support pupil progress, and use assessment effectively to inform teaching and drive achievement. You will motivate students to aim high, foster a positive classroom culture and provide targeted support through intervention programmes and revision sessions where required. Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting enrichment activities, departmental initiatives and whole-school events. You will also take on pastoral responsibilities as a form tutor, helping to promote student wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and personal development. Working closely with colleagues, school leaders and external agencies, you will play an important role in ensuring students receive the guidance and support they need to thrive both academically and personally. The successful candidate will maintain the highest professional standards and actively engage in professional development opportunities, quality assurance processes and collaborative planning activities. They will have a strong commitment to safeguarding and be dedicated to promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. Experience of adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of SEND and EAL learners, setting high expectations for pupil achievement and contributing positively to departmental discussions and school improvement initiatives will be highly valued.
