At 4myschools, we are proud to be working in partnership with a supportive and community‑focused secondary school in Methwold, who are seeking a Part‑Time Pastoral Support Worker to join their team for 2–3 days per week. This is a varied and rewarding role, supporting Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting student wellbeing, engagement and positive behaviour, while also providing flexible Teaching Assistant support in lessons and offering administrative support to the wider school team when required. This position would suit someone who enjoys working across different areas of a school and is confident adapting to the needs of students and staff alike. Flexibility, approachability and a genuine commitment to supporting young people are essential for success in this role.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will be a flexible, approachable and resilient individual with experience supporting secondary‑aged students, either in a pastoral, teaching assistant, behaviour support, youth work, education, health or social care capacity. You will be confident working with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, providing pastoral support around wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and engagement, while also being willing and able to step into a classroom to offer Teaching Assistant support when required. The role also involves assisting with administrative tasks to support the wider school team, so strong organisation, communication skills and a proactive attitude are essential. We are looking for someone who can adapt quickly to changing priorities, build positive relationships with students and staff, and maintain professionalism, confidentiality and a strong understanding of safeguarding at all times. Availability to work 2–3 days per week during term time is essential, and due to the school’s location, candidates must have access to transport or be able to travel reliably to Methwold. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a supportive school environment and is committed to making a meaningful difference to young people’s pastoral and academic journey.
