New opening! Year 5 Teacher – Stowmarket

This primary school offers a welcoming and well‑established learning environment where collaboration and consistency are valued. The Year 5 class is supported through a structured job‑share arrangement, allowing pupils to benefit from continuity across the week. Staff work closely together to maintain clear routines, shared expectations and a calm classroom culture. The role fits neatly into the wider Key Stage 2 team, with opportunities to plan jointly and contribute to whole‑school practice on a part‑time basis.

  • Contract type: PART_TIME – Hours: 8:30 – 3:30
  • Age groups: Year 5

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will be a confident and reflective Year 5 teacher who enjoys working as part of a job‑share partnership. They will bring a steady, organised approach to teaching and be able to pick up learning seamlessly at the end of each week. A good understanding of upper Key Stage 2 expectations will support effective delivery of the curriculum and assessment. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset will help ensure consistency for pupils across both teaching days.

Requirements for this role

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – we can help you apply. 
Right to work in the UK. 
Relevant experience or qualifications in education or childcare (desirable). 
Dedication to safeguarding children. 
Experience teaching in upper Key Stage 2 would be beneficial. 
The role requires clear handover and shared planning with the job‑share partner. 
The teacher should be comfortable taking responsibility for class routines, marking and assessment on their working days.
