4myschools are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in the Bishop’s Stortford area to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting in September. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum. Your role will involve supporting pupils with a range of abilities, including those with additional needs, delivering small group interventions, assisting with classroom management, and helping to create a positive and stimulating learning environment. You may also provide 1:1 support for pupils requiring additional guidance, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring their inclusion and progress within the classroom setting.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within a similar educational setting, particularly within Key Stage 2, although candidates with strong curriculum knowledge or experience supporting children with SEN are also encouraged to apply. You will hold a minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) in both Maths and English and demonstrate a good understanding of the primary curriculum. A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach is essential, along with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. You must be available full-time from September on an ongoing basis and be committed to making a meaningful impact on children’s learning and development. Due to the location, access to reliable transport is highly desirable.
