4myschools is currently recruiting enthusiastic and adaptable Teaching Assistants to work on a flexible daily supply basis in a variety of secondary schools across Norwich. Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or have transferable experience from Health and Social Care, youth work, mentoring, coaching, support work or voluntary roles, this is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in education while enjoying the flexibility of supply work. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), although full classroom experience is not essential. As a Daily Supply Teaching Assistant, you will support students aged 11-16 within mainstream secondary school settings, helping them to engage positively with learning and achieve their potential. Responsibilities may include providing one-to-one support, assisting small intervention groups, supporting students with SEND, helping to manage behaviour positively, encouraging student participation during lessons and working closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils remain focused and supported throughout the school day. You may also assist students with autism, ADHD, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), speech and language difficulties, or other additional learning needs. Every assignment offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience across different schools, subject areas and year groups while developing your skills within secondary education. About the ideal candidate
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and confident working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.
This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working with young people, either within a school environment or through transferable roles such as Health and Social Care, residential care, youth services, sports coaching, mentoring, support work or voluntary positions. Experience supporting students with SEND is highly desirable but not essential. Applicants must hold a minimum Grade 4 (C) GCSE or equivalent qualification in both English and Maths and possess strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Candidates should be reliable, adaptable and confident working in a variety of school settings. Due to the nature of supply work, applicants must be available for a minimum of two full days per week and have access to reliable transport to travel to secondary schools across Norwich and the surrounding areas.
