At 4myschools, we are working closely with a welcoming and well‑regarded secondary school in the Wymondham area to recruit a Full Time Art Teacher for the remainder of the summer term. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Art specialist or a confident practitioner with strong subject knowledge who enjoys inspiring creativity and self‑expression in young people. The school offers a calm, purposeful learning environment with supportive leadership, well‑resourced classrooms and a strong emphasis on inclusive practice, ensuring all pupils are encouraged to achieve their potential through a broad and engaging curriculum.

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, assessing and monitoring pupil progress, and contributing to a positive and creative department. You will be expected to create an inclusive classroom environment, adapt learning to meet a range of abilities and additional needs, maintain high standards of behaviour, and work collaboratively with colleagues to support pupils’ academic and personal development. Full teaching responsibilities are required, including marking, lesson preparation and active participation in the wider life of the school for the duration of the placement.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and confident working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification, have previous experience teaching Art in a secondary school setting or demonstrate strong curriculum‑level subject knowledge, and be available full time for the rest of the summer term during normal school hours. Experience supporting pupils with additional or special educational needs is highly desirable. Due to the school’s location in Wymondham, access to reliable transport is advantageous. This role is ideal for teachers seeking a short‑term, full‑time placement in a supportive and well‑structured school where creativity is valued.
