New opening! Experienced Teaching Assistants – Diss
4myschools is proud to be supporting a network of friendly and inclusive primary schools in Diss and the surrounding areas, who are seeking Daily Supply Teaching Assistants from September. This role offers exceptional flexibility, making it ideal for those looking to work anywhere from 1 to 5 days per week, term time only, to suit personal commitments and work‑life balance. As a supply Teaching Assistant, you will step into a variety of welcoming mainstream classroom settings, supporting learning across the school day and working collaboratively with class teachers to ensure continuity and positive pupil outcomes. A significant part of this role will involve supporting pupils with SEND within mainstream classrooms, providing tailored support to help children access the curriculum, build confidence and feel fully included. Duties may include small group and 1:1 support, adapting learning activities, assisting with behaviour regulation strategies, and promoting a calm, nurturing learning environment. This varied and rewarding position is perfect for those who enjoy flexibility, variety and making a real difference in local primary schools without the commitment of a long‑term contract.
- Contract duration: Ongoing
- Contract type: TEMPORARY, PART_TIME, FULL_TIME – Hours: 8:30 – 3:30
- Age groups: Primary School
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should be committed and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.
The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school and/or relevant knowledge of the primary curriculum or special educational needs, particularly SEND support within mainstream settings. You will be adaptable, reliable and confident in stepping into different school environments, with a patient and positive approach to supporting pupils’ individual needs. Applicants must be available for day‑to‑day supply from September, with the flexibility to choose 1–5 days per week during term time only. Due to the rural nature of some schools in the area, access to your own transport is highly desirable. A strong understanding of safeguarding, a professional attitude and a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing are essential. This role is well suited to experienced Teaching Assistants, those returning to education, or individuals seeking flexible work that fits around family or other commitments.
