Are you an experienced HLTA ready to take the next step in your education career? We are recruiting confident and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistants for a September start, with a variety of daily supply and long-term roles available, offering both flexibility and continuity depending on your preference. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Working closely with class teachers and senior leaders, you will deliver planned lessons in the teacher’s absence, lead small group interventions, and provide targeted support to pupils of varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Your responsibilities will include assisting with lesson preparation, adapting resources to meet individual learning needs, monitoring pupil progress, and managing classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Across both primary and secondary settings, you will be expected to confidently support across the curriculum, occasionally leading whole-class sessions, and contributing to the wider school community.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary and Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will hold HLTA status or have significant experience working at an advanced Teaching Assistant level within UK schools, with a strong understanding of either the primary or secondary curriculum. Experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable. A minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE Maths and English is essential. You will be confident leading lessons, adaptable to different school settings, and capable of building positive relationships with pupils and staff alike. Strong communication skills, excellent classroom management, and a proactive approach are key to success in this role. Availability Monday to Friday, term time only (8:30am – 3:30pm), is required, along with access to reliable transport to travel to schools within the Great Yarmouth area. Opportunities are available on both a flexible daily basis and in longer-term placements, depending on your availability and preferences.
