We are working with a range of secondary schools across Sudbury and the surrounding areas of Suffolk who are seeking Humanities Teachers to support their departments on both day‑to‑day supply and long‑term placements. These opportunities are ideal for teachers of subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies who are looking for flexible work or longer‑term consistency within a school setting. The secondary schools we work with across this area offer structured learning environments with clear expectations for pupils and staff. Humanities departments are typically well established, with shared resources and schemes of work to support continuity of learning. Schools value supply teachers who can maintain routines, deliver subject content confidently, and support pupils’ understanding of the wider world. Long‑term placements allow teachers to become part of the department and contribute more fully to curriculum delivery and pupil progress.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and confident working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

This role would suit a Humanities teacher who can adapt quickly to different school environments and deliver clear, structured lessons. You will be confident managing classrooms and supporting pupils with a range of abilities and learning styles. A thoughtful, organised approach and strong subject knowledge will help you succeed, particularly in maintaining engagement and supporting positive behaviour. What you’ll need to apply
