Current opening! Science Teacher – Stradbrook
We are working with a secondary school in the Stradbrook area of Suffolk that is seeking a Science Teacher to join their team on a part‑time basis (3 days per week) for the full academic year from September. This role offers a valuable opportunity to provide consistency and subject expertise within the Science department across the year. The school is a mixed secondary setting with a structured and supportive approach to teaching and learning. Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils experience clear routines and high expectations in lessons. The Science department is an important part of the curriculum, with established resources and schemes of work in place to support effective delivery. The part‑time nature of the role is well integrated into the school timetable, allowing for continuity for pupils across the academic year.
- Contract duration: Temporary (Long Term)
- Contract type: PART_TIME – Hours: 8:30 – 3:30
- Age groups: Secondary School
About the ideal candidate
The ideal candidate should be committed and confident working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.
The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The successful teacher will deliver Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, following the school’s curriculum and assessment frameworks. Responsibilities will include lesson delivery, maintaining a purposeful classroom environment, and supporting pupil progress across the year. As this is a longer‑term placement, the role may involve planning, marking, and working closely with departmental colleagues to ensure consistency. This role would suit a Science teacher who values consistency and enjoys building relationships with pupils over time. You will be confident delivering scientific concepts clearly and adapting lessons to meet a range of abilities. A calm, organised approach to classroom management is important, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a department. Applications are welcome from experienced teachers and those earlier in their teaching career.
