Immediate opportunity! Maths Teacher – Ipswich

This role involves working within a range of secondary schools in Ipswich, supporting mathematics departments on both a day-to-day supply and potential longer-term basis. Schools offer structured timetables and clear expectations, enabling visiting teachers to maintain continuity in learning. The mathematics departments are typically collaborative, with established schemes of work in place to guide lesson delivery. You will be stepping into classrooms where consistency and strong subject knowledge are valued to support pupil progress. You will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering either pre-planned lessons or adapting existing materials as required. This position offers flexibility through daily supply, with opportunities to move into longer-term placements where suitable. Contract type: Daily supply with potential for long-term placement Working pattern: Flexible, ad-hoc and ongoing opportunities Key stages: KS3 and KS4 Mathematics Start: Ongoing Responsibilities include delivering engaging maths lessons, maintaining classroom discipline, and supporting pupils with varying abilities to access the curriculum. You will also be expected to follow school behaviour policies and ensure a productive learning environment.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong subject knowledge in mathematics and the ability to explain concepts clearly to secondary pupils. You should be confident adapting your teaching style to suit different school settings and student needs. A calm and organised approach will help you manage behaviour effectively while maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety and can quickly establish rapport with both pupils and staff.

What you’ll need to apply

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – we can help you apply. 
Right to work in the UK. 
Relevant experience or qualifications in education or childcare (desirable). 
Dedication to safeguarding children. 
QTS or a recognised teaching qualification is preferred. 
Confidence covering a range of mathematical topics at KS3 and KS4 is important. 
Availability for short-notice bookings and potential longer-term roles is beneficial.
