This opportunity involves working on a daily supply basis within secondary schools across Ipswich, supporting Physical Education departments as needed. Schools typically offer structured timetables and clear expectations, allowing visiting staff to step into lessons with confidence. You will deliver PE lessons or supervise pre-planned sessions across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, depending on the school’s requirements. This is a flexible, day-to-day supply position, ideal for those seeking varied work across different school settings. Contract type: Daily supply / ad-hoc cover Working pattern: Flexible, as and when required Key stages: KS3 and KS4 Physical Education Start: Ongoing opportunities available Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and organised environment during practical lessons, encouraging participation, and managing behaviour in line with school policies. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure lessons run smoothly, whether delivering content or supervising existing plans.

Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and confident working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.
The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about sport and physical education, with the ability to motivate pupils of varying abilities. You should be adaptable and confident working in different school environments, responding positively to last-minute bookings. Strong behaviour management and clear communication are essential, particularly in active, practical settings. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety and can quickly establish rapport with students and staff.

Essential requirements
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – we can help you apply.
Right to work in the UK.
Relevant experience or qualifications in education or childcare (desirable).
Dedication to safeguarding children.
Experience teaching or supporting PE within a secondary setting is preferred.
A relevant teaching qualification such as QTS or equivalent is advantageous.
Availability for short-notice bookings is beneficial.
