At 4myschools, we are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school to recruit a compassionate and committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a Year 1 child, on a 4 day per week basis. This nurturing Church of England school is deeply rooted in its community, with a strong emphasis on care, respect, and enabling every child to flourish both academically and personally. The school provides a supportive environment with a collaborative staff team who are passionate about inclusive education and tailored learning approaches. In this rewarding role, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with complex needs who is accessing an EYFS-level curriculum, ensuring they are fully supported in their learning journey. Your responsibilities will include adapting EYFS learning activities to suit individual needs, supporting communication and engagement, assisting with emotional regulation, and working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised learning strategies. You may also be required to support with personal care and help monitor and track progress against EYFS developmental outcomes. Building a strong, trusting relationship with the child and creating a safe, consistent learning environment will be central to your role.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We are seeking a caring and experienced individual who holds a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in childcare or education and has previous experience supporting children with complex needs, ideally within an EYFS or KS1 setting. A paediatric first aid qualification would be highly advantageous. You should be patient, adaptable, and confident in supporting children working below age-related expectations. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. Applicants must be available for 4 days per week and ideally have access to reliable transport due to the school’s location.

Grade 4 © or above at GCSE level in English and Maths
