4myschools are currently recruiting a flexible and enthusiastic Secondary Supply Teacher to work in a welcoming and well-regarded school in Bishop’s Stortford. As a supply teacher, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, managing classroom behaviour effectively, and ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher. You will adapt to different subjects where required, support pupils of varying abilities including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), and uphold the school’s standards of teaching and learning. This role is term-time only (Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm) and offers the flexibility of supply work while maintaining consistency within a supportive school environment.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate should be committed and confident working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.
We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The successful candidate will have previous experience teaching within a secondary school setting or possess strong subject knowledge relevant to the secondary curriculum. A minimum of Grade 4 (or C) in GCSE Maths and English is essential. You will demonstrate excellent classroom management skills, adaptability, and confidence in delivering lessons across different subjects where required. Experience supporting students with SEN is highly desirable, alongside a proactive and positive approach to engaging learners. You must be reliable, able to work on short notice when needed, and committed to maintaining high standards in the classroom. Due to the location, access to your own transport is preferred, as this will ensure ease of travel to and from the school.
