These schools are committed to creating calm, structured and aspirational learning environments where all pupils are supported to reach their potential. As a supply Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a variety of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and social or communication needs, within mainstream classrooms and, where required, in small group or intervention settings. Your responsibilities may include providing 1:1 and small‑group support, helping students access the curriculum, supporting behaviour regulation strategies, adapting learning materials, and promoting engagement, confidence and independence throughout the school day. This role offers valuable variety and the opportunity to gain experience across different secondary settings while making a meaningful difference to young people’s education.

  • Contract duration: Ongoing
  • Contract type: TEMPORARY, FULL_TIME, PART_TIME – Hours: 8:30 – 3:30

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and comfortable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school and/or strong knowledge of the secondary curriculum or SEND, particularly across KS3 and KS4. You will be patient, adaptable and confident in supporting adolescents with a range of learning and emotional needs, able to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations. Availability for day‑to‑day supply work is essential, with flexibility to work across different schools as required. Due to the location of some schools, access to your own transport is desirable. A sound understanding of safeguarding, a calm and resilient approach, and a genuine passion for supporting young people are key to success in this role. This opportunity is well suited to experienced Teaching Assistants, individuals with relevant subject or SEND knowledge, or those seeking flexible work within secondary education.
