Immediate opportunity! Supply Cover Supervisor – Norwich

Are you a tutor, mentor, sports coach, youth worker, teaching assistant, graduate, or someone with experience working with teenagers? We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisors to work on an ad hoc basis across a range of secondary schools in and around Norwich from September onwards. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are interested in building a career within education. Whether you’re considering teacher training in the future or simply looking to broaden your experience within schools, this role offers invaluable exposure to secondary education while allowing you to develop your confidence, classroom management skills and professional network. As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, supervise students’ learning, maintain positive behaviour and ensure a productive classroom environment. No lesson planning or marking is required, making this an ideal stepping stone into teaching and school-based roles. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have experience supporting or working with teenagers in any capacity, including tutoring, coaching, youth work, mentoring, volunteering, performing arts, outdoor education, customer-facing roles, or other positions that have developed strong communication and leadership skills. Working across a variety of schools will give you the opportunity to establish relationships with senior leaders and teaching staff, showcase your abilities, and gain exposure to different school environments. Many of our Cover Supervisors go on to secure long-term placements, teacher training opportunities, support staff roles and permanent positions within schools.

• Contract type: TEMPORARY – Hours: 8:30 – 3:30
• Age groups: Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, Key Stage 5

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be committed  and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

You will be confident, adaptable and able to engage positively with secondary-aged students. Strong communication skills, reliability and a professional approach are essential, alongside a genuine interest in supporting young people’s development. Previous classroom experience is helpful but not essential, as full guidance and support will be provided.
