Job Description:
4myschools is currently seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor for a temporary-to-permanent supply contract. This role involves working within a Tendring-based junior school, providing support to a student with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with characteristics including behaviours that challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one and group support for a student with ASD and challenging behaviours.
- Implement and develop tailored behavioural intervention plans and strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Continuously monitor and track the student’s progress and behavioural improvements.
- Provide guidance, counselling, and mentorship to help the student navigate behavioural challenges.
- Maintain meticulous records of student interactions and progress.
- Contribute to fostering a positive, inclusive school culture.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a Behaviour Mentor or related role.
- Hold a degree or relevant certification in education, psychology, or a related field (desirable)
- Proficiency in behaviour management techniques, especially when supporting students with ASD.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative skills to work effectively with school staff and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a dedication to students.
