Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher who is passionate about helping students explore the complexities of the human mind and behaviour. As a Psychology Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons, facilitating meaningful discussions, and fostering a love for the subject. You will inspire students to critically analyse psychological theories and concepts, encouraging them to apply these principles to real-world scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan and deliver comprehensive lessons in accordance with the school’s curriculum, ensuring effective differentiation to meet the needs of diverse learners.
2. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and student engagement.
3. Foster a passion for psychology by employing innovative teaching methods, such as group work, case studies, multimedia resources, and practical experiments.
4. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, helping them track their progress and identify areas for improvement.
5. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the psychology curriculum, incorporating contemporary research and emerging trends in the field.
6. Support and mentor students, offering guidance for further study and career paths in psychology.
7. Monitor and assess student performance through regular formative and summative assessments, maintaining accurate records of their progress.
8. Establish strong communication channels with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns in a timely manner.
9. Engage in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of the latest developments in psychology and educational pedagogy.
10. Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities, school events, and faculty meetings as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

– A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field (a Master’s degree is highly desirable).
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
– A solid understanding of psychology principles, theories, and research methods.
– Experience teaching psychology at the secondary school level (previous experience teaching in the UK is an advantage).
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
– Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
– A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for staying up-to-date with developments in the field.
