The Role:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be integral to the support and development of students within small group settings. This alternative provision caters to pupils who need additional support outside of mainstream education settings, focusing on both academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
– Deliver tailored learning activities prepared by the teaching staff.
– Support the social and emotional development of pupils, providing them with a secure environment to learn.
– Work closely with teachers to monitor progress of pupils and assist in the preparation of lesson plans and materials.
– Facilitate group activities and encourage positive interactions among students.
– Manage any behavioural or special needs issues that may arise, ensuring all pupils have access to learning opportunities.
About You:
– A qualified HLTA or equivalent, with experience working in a school setting, preferably within an alternative provision.
– Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
– A compassionate approach and a genuine passion for helping students with additional needs.
– Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a varied and dynamic environment.
– Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
