Our esteemed education recruitment agency is currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide specialised support to a Year 5 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), including challenging behaviour. Position: Learning Support Assistant (ASD/SLCN/Challenging Behaviour)
Location: Braintree
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide one-on-one support to a Year 5 pupil with ASD, SLCN, and challenging behaviour, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and reaching their full potential.
– Implement personalised learning strategies and interventions tailored to the individual needs of the pupil, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
– Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
– Collaborate closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals to develop and implement EHCP’s and behaviour management strategies.
– Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and stakeholders.
Requirements:
– Previous experience working with children or young people with ASD, SLCN, and challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
– Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs are advantageous.
– Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
– Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and well-being of every child.
– Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to adapt to changing situations and needs.
