About the School:

Our client, a reputable SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school located in Bury St Edmunds, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time KS2 Teacher to join their team. The school caters to students with a range of needs including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). With small class sizes ranging from 10 to 14 students across KS2 to KS5, the school provides a supportive and nurturing environment for both students and staff.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced KS2 Teacher to join this dynamic SEND school on a part-time basis, teaching on Wednesdays and Fridays. As a KS2 Teacher, you will work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants (TAs) and other teachers to deliver high-quality education tailored to the individual needs of each student. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of MLD, ADHD, and ASD, and be committed to creating inclusive and engaging learning experiences for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver effective lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum, taking into account the diverse needs of students with MLD, ADHD, and ASD.
– Differentiate instruction and resources to support the learning styles and abilities of all students.
– Work closely with TAs and colleagues to assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
– Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and academic achievement.
– Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and support needs.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
– Experience working with students with SEND, particularly MLD, ADHD, and ASD.
– Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
– Dedication to promoting inclusion and diversity in education.
