Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN LSA (Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant) to join a dynamic team within a SEN School in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, on a supply basis. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for providing tailored support to children aged 4-18 with PMLD, including assisting with personal care requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide one-to-one and group support to students with PMLD in various educational activities.
– Assist with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene routines.
– Collaborate closely with teaching staff to implement EHCP’s
– Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
– Monitor and record student progress, highlighting achievements and areas for development.
Requirements:
– Previous experience working with individuals with PMLD and/or personal care needs is highly desirable.
– Relevant qualifications in Health and Social Care, Education, or related fields are advantageous.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents/carers.
– Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of individuals with special needs.

The role is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, within a specialised SEN School dedicated to providing outstanding support to children with a range of learning difficulties.
