About the School:

Our client, a respected educational institution located in Bury St Edmunds, is seeking a dedicated and adaptable General Cover Teacher to join their team. The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment for students across various age groups and abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), such as Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Position Overview:

We are looking for qualified and enthusiastic General Cover Teachers to provide flexible support across different classes and year groups, covering for absent teachers as required. Whether you’re seeking part-time or full-time opportunities, this role offers flexibility and the chance to work in a dynamic educational setting that caters to students with SEND.

Key Responsibilities:

– Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects and year groups, ensuring differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students with SEND.
– Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students, including those with MLD, ADHD, and ASD.
– Ensure continuity of learning in the absence of regular classroom teachers, providing necessary support and adaptations as needed.
– Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure the effective delivery of lessons and support for students with SEND.
– Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff regarding student progress and any additional support required.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
– Flexibility to work 3-5 days per week, as required.
– Experience or a strong interest in working with students with SEND, including MLD, ADHD, and ASD.
– Ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms and teaching environments, prioritising the needs of students with SEND.
– Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to inclusive education.
