Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young children? Do you have experience or interest in supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive team in a vibrant primary school located in Dunmow, Essex. This part-time role is an excellent opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of a child within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Key Responsibilities: 📋
– Provide tailored support to a child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who exhibits mild challenging behaviours.
– Engage in activities that promote social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) wellbeing.
– Assist with the implementation of educational and behavioural plans in collaboration with educators and specialists.
– Encourage and support peer interactions and assist in developing the child’s social skills.
– Adapt communication and engagement techniques to meet the child’s specific learning needs and delays.
– Monitor the child’s progress and provide feedback to the teaching staff and parents.
Requirements: ✅
– Previous experience working with children, particularly in supporting those with special educational needs.
– Understanding of the challenges faced by children with ASD and SEMH needs.
– Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to supporting learning and behavioural challenges.
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
– A commitment to the values of inclusivity and support in educational settings.
– Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo this procedure.
