We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant for a full-time position at a dynamic school located in the welcoming community of Haverhill, Suffolk. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s educational journeys on a one-to-one basis while working within a vibrant classroom setting.
Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a child, helping to facilitate their academic and personal growth within the classroom environment. This role requires patience, creativity, and a genuine desire to assist children in overcoming challenges and reaching their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
– Work one-on-one with a designated student, providing support and guidance throughout the school day.
– Assist in the development and implementation of EHCPs
– Collaborate with teachers and other staff to support the student’s educational goals.
– Monitor and record the student’s progress, adapting strategies as needed to optimise learning outcomes.
– Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
– Engage with parents or guardians to provide updates and encourage home support for learning initiatives.
Ideal Candidate:
– NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, Education or relevant field preferred.
– Experience in a support role within a school setting, particularly with special educational needs.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
– A proactive and empathetic approach to student development.
– The ability to work collaboratively within a team of educational professionals.
– A commitment to ongoing professional development.
