We are currently seeking a talented KS1 Teacher to join a reputable SEN School in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Our client is a well-established SEN School dedicated to providing high-quality education and support to children with a variety of special educational needs. Situated in the picturesque town of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, the school caters to pupils aged between 5 and 16 who may have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), disabilities, and/or other attachment disorders.

Job Description:

As a KS1 Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to students in Key Stage 1, tailored to meet their individual learning needs and abilities. Your responsibilities may include:
– Planning, preparing, and delivering creative and stimulating lessons across the KS1 curriculum, including English, Mathematics, Science, and Foundation subjects.
– Differentiating instruction and resources to accommodate the diverse learning styles and abilities of students with SEN.
– Creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, supported, and motivated to learn.
– Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing targeted interventions as necessary.
– Collaborating with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to develop and implement EHCP’s


– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
– Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, preferably within a primary school or educational setting.
– A sound understanding of child development, early years pedagogy, and effective teaching strategies for young learners.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
– A commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality within the classroom and wider school community.
