Schedule: Wednesdays and Thursdays (2 days per week)

School Type: SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) School, catering to students aged 11-16.

Class Size: 4-5 students per class

Staff-Student Ratio: 1:2

School Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time History Teacher to join a dynamic team at a SEND school in Lowestoft. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver engaging history lessons tailored to the needs of students with diverse learning requirements.
– Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment conducive to academic and personal growth.
– Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying abilities and learning styles within small class settings.
– Foster positive relationships with students, providing guidance, support, and encouragement as needed.
– Collaborate effectively with colleagues and support staff to promote student welfare and educational attainment.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification in History Education.
– Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) preferred.
– Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students and colleagues.
– Adaptability and resilience in addressing diverse learning challenges and individualised educational plans.
– Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality in the educational setting.
