The Role:
As a Mental Health Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing personalized support to students facing mental health difficulties. Working closely with our experienced staff, you will assist in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with mental health needs, helping them to engage effectively in their learning.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop individualized support plans tailored to each student’s needs.
- Foster positive relationships with students, offering emotional support and encouragement.
- Assist in implementing strategies to promote mental well-being within the school community.
- Monitor and report on the progress of students, identifying areas for additional support or intervention.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with mental health difficulties is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to make a difference.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or mental health support are advantageous but not essential.
