🌟 Unlock Your Potential: Teaching Opportunity Awaits! 🌟

Are you a qualified and dedicated teacher with a passion for making a profound impact on the lives of students? We invite you to join our team as a supply SEND Teacher, as we’re seeking enthusiastic individuals to contribute to our commitment to access to education for all children and young people.

About the role:

You will be working with schools based locally to you that support children with SEND in particular, PMLD. This will be pre-booked supply work, giving you notice, so you can plan your week.

Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) is a complex condition. Children and young people with PMLD need substantial support in their daily lives. Characteristics of PMLD include:

  • Severe Cognitive Disabilities
  • Limited Communication Skills
  • Physical Disabilities
  • Sensory Impairments
  • Medical Needs
  • Dependence on Care (personal care)

SEND schools and Alternative Provisions will have smaller class sizes; usually between 4 and 10 pupils in each class, depending on the needs of the children and young people. You will also have a higher ratio of staff to children due to the 1:1, or in some cases, 2:1 ratios of the children. Lessons focus on holistic development (communication, physical development social interaction, independence/specific knowledge/critical life skills, and enrichment experiences).

You DO NOT NEED to be an expert on PMLD or any of the characteristics listed above! What you DO NEED, is:

  • QTS
  • Patience and understanding that every pupil in your class is facing individual challenges
  • The ability to tailor your approach for each pupil in your class, finding ways to connect and build rapport with each pupil
  • The capability to create a fully inclusive class and learning activities
  • Skills in teamwork
  • An innovative, adaptable, and creative approach to teaching

🎓 Professional Growth: Your journey with us includes opportunities for continuous professional development. Every day that you work with 4myschools you earn CPD points that you can use with our CPD providers to continue your own growth as an educator.
