SEN Teacher King’s Lynn. 4myschools are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN teacher to work full time at an outstanding special needs school based in King’s Lynn, Norfolk. There is also the possibility of this becoming a permanent position for the ideal candidate. The school specialises in providing support to students with SEMH. This rewarding role will involve working with small class sizes with students, aged between 5-16, who require specialised attention and assistance, offering therapeutic support.

With the support of multiple teaching assistants, the successful candidate will form a vital part of our dedicated team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students and contribute to their educational and personal growth.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for each student based on their unique needs and abilities.
Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons, catering to a range of learning styles and abilities.
Foster a nurturing and supportive environment, promoting independence and personal growth.
Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff members to create a cohesive learning experience.
Utilise appropriate teaching strategies and resources to address each student’s developmental, cognitive, and communication goals.
Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and adapt instructional methods accordingly.
Maintain effective communication with parents/guardians, sharing updates on student achievements, challenges, and strategies for support.

Requirements:

QTS and relevant teaching qualification and/or experience working with children with PMLD.
Knowledge and experience in creating and implementing IEPs.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, parents/guardians, and other professionals.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with diverse learning needs.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
