Here we try to help you decide whether returning to teaching is right for you

Will I need to complete pre-employment checks (e.g. – DBS
checks)?

Yes, KCSIE stipulates we must do this and there have been no relaxtions of the rules. we will be able to let you know if you need to undertake any new DBS
check and help you through the process to register.

Who pays for the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check?

We hoped the DfE would make DBS checks for retired teachers helping the national effort free of chage but sadly this did not happen. A new enhanced DBS within child workforce costs £40 plus £6.50 transactional fee for the company who provides our checks. This DBS will be delivered to your house and will belong to you. We will encourage you to join the update service so you never need a new certificate again.

How much will I get paid?

You will recive a daily rate dependant on your specialism, key stage and area you will work. If you continue to work with us beyond 12 weeks you will be paid parity with other teacher in the school subject to agency workers regulations

Will my teachers’ pension be impacted?

Teacher Supply agencies cannot participate in the Teachers’ Pensions Scheme (TPS)
and therefore returning to teaching in this way will not affect your pension

preferences. This will help us find appropriate placements for you.

Yes, you can work as much or as little as you would like

You can be flexible in your approach to work. Whether it’s one day a week or five, your
help will be invaluable at this time.
